Changing seasons. Socio-political polarization. Personal upheaval. [Insert whatever else you’re experiencing here.]
It’s a lot.
And it’s also not.
Sometimes, we allow the smallest issue to overshadow any and all of the good in our lives. We let the negative box out the positive—for no good or apparent reason.
But if we embrace realistic optimism—hoping for the best outcome that is reasonable/attainable given the circumstances, and accepting that at times the best outcome actually is sh-tty—we can rewire our thinking so we’re not perpetually feeling like all is lost. Because let’s face it:
Worry is easy. But worry is a waste—of energy, of time, of possibility…and of peace.
I think the greatest gift we can give ourselves is the gift of inner peace. And we often forget that we can gift ourselves with it, anytime, anywhere, in endless supply.
Take some time to chart your personal path to peace. This knowledge will make it easier for you to get back on track whenever you feel yourself struggling. When you feel yourself getting lost in yourself or lost in your life, when you’re living in the shadows more often than you’re living in the light, you need to know the way back to your peaceful place.
Happy Fall. Hope you’re (planning on) spending some time in that peaceful place this week.
I needed this reminder today, thank you!!
